Operation: Church | Our Lady of Lourdes, Tagaytay

Photo snatched from OLL unofficial site
This is one of our first choices, when we were still looking at Tagaytay for the Cosa Nostra. I visited this church for the first time when the Other Guin's cousin Charm got married (I honestly can't remember what year it was). The church was not that big, but spacious.

The first time we went there, the church was still being renovated. But still, at that time, the church's altar has been as beautiful as it is now. They have also renovated the courtyard and added a fountain in front of the church. (which I cannot remember if that fountain was already there when we first visited.) The church actually looked small from the road, more like a chapel. When we entered the church, there were a lot of benches, really spacious aisle, but still easy on the eyes. It also has simply decorated (relatively simple compares to some of those I have seen) arches, and high ceiling (which I really love, one thing I always look for during oculars). Even there were a quite a number of guests who attended the ceremony, the scene was still pleasant and didn't look crowded.

Too bad, we had scrapped Tagaytay off our list. But if we were to have Cosa Nostra, this would've been our church. For this post, I consulted our good ol' friend Google about Our Lady of Lourdes in Tagaytay for images, and I must say, I was surprised to see what it looks like now. This is not what I remember, and definitely, how it is now looked better and fresh.

On OLL's unofficial site's gallery, the courtyard looked bigger (than what I can remember) and the cemented patio has become a garden, which is a very nice place to have pre- and post-ceremony photo ops. I am also not sure if the aisle have been this long ever since, or they have extended it. One thing I remember is, OLL has really nice doors, especially at the entrance, which may add to the dramatic entrance of the bride. The wedding we attended was held in an afternoon, and that time, the sun shines right at the back of the bride as she enters the church, giving her the dramatic silhouette when the doorman opened the gates.

Verditct: Over-all, Our Lady of Lourdes is a nice find and a fine choice should you want to tie the knot in the high lands of Tagaytay. It doesn't matter whether you'll have it in the morning or in the afternoon, or whatever season, OLL will always be a beauty.
